Fuctions

Dozens of barcodes types in one application
Standard version operates dozens of one-dimensional barcodes (2W, 4W), including ISBN-compliant codes. Enterprise version generates over 100 types of codes (one-dimensional and two-dimensional codes and hybrid codes).

Fast generating of the barcode
In this application, the text from operating system is generated according to barcode's bitmap. The application reacts on keyboard abbreviations, copying the text to the bookmark and clicking on the text twice.

Easy change of the barcode size
The user can individually set the barcode: its height and width.

The width of code's module can be modified
The width which is the proportion between dark and light lines in a barcode can be generated automatically or defined by the user.

Coding the string of characters in a barcode
Depending on the code type, various characters can be coded. The user can individually insert characters for encoding or insert them from previously prepared file.

Barcode's filing
Generated barcodes can be saved in a clipboard in form of a bitmap or into the graphic files in the given formats: BMP, GIF, JPG, TIFF, PNG, PCL, EPS.

The highest quality of printed barcodes at any time
Barcode printout can be adjusted to printer's resolution.

„Halfdotting" option
This solution increases the legibility of barcodes printed on high performance printers.

HRT option (Human Readable Text)
This option helps to generate the barcodes with a built-in text. The string of characters is saved in a form which is easy to read for a human.

Defining text setting in a barcode
The user can specify the text position in a barcode -whether the text should be built in a code, or half built-in or whether it should be placed under or over the barcode. Additionally, the user can define the text font and style.

Filing of generated barcode parameters
Barcode parameters can be saved in a file. Generating the same or similar code is time efficient.

Barcode size can be modified
The user can individually define the barcode size according to units of measurements (millimeter, inch, centimeter).

Barcode rotation
Barcode can be rotated around its axis by 90, 180 or 270 degrees.

Correct reading of a barcode
With "Checksum" you can check whether barcode was read correctly.

Easy to use
The application is easy to use. If the given barcode has the correct text, barcode picture is automatically inserted in a clipboard. It can be then pasted into a graphic application or word processor. The user gets information that the code was created because the box with a given barcode flashes up.

Available versions

Standard (1D) - supports linear barcode only

Enterprise (1D + 2D) - supports all types of barcodes.

Requirments

Hardware: Pentim Computer: 128 MB RAM, 20 MB HDD
Operating System: System: Windows 98, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, XP

Screen Shots

Barcode List tab is used to select the barcode type and to enter the text to be encoded. If you choose a hybrid code (RSS, Aztec Mesas orAN/UCC Composite Symbology) you can enter additional information, which will be encoded as a 2D component. The additional information to be encoded can be also retrieved from a file. For each barcode there is a Default text defined. It is correct and lets you view the library quickly.

In the second pass you define such parameters as the height and the width of the barcode, and also the units that the barcode size is going to be expressed in. In some cases it is impossible to define the height and the width of the barcode directly. You can achieve it increasing the bar. It is also possible to rotate the barcode 90, 180 or 270 degrees. In the same step you also define the resolution of the barcode to be generated. The standard resolution equals 600 dpi, which matches most of the printers. If you need a bigger or a smaller resolution, you can select it from the list (resolution range: 150 - 2540 dpi). After you make any change, the current barcode is displayed in the Preview tab. If the barcode cannot be generated, a corresponding communicate will appear.

In the next tab you define specific barcode parameters. Example: in case of MaxiCode it will be the error correction mode (Option tab in MaxiCode) and for ISBN code (NEW 2007): 4D Barcode Options tab .

The HRT tab sets the parameters of the encoded text (HRT standing for Human Readable Interpretation). You can define:
  • HRT position (without, under, above, built-in, semi-built-in),
  • Arrangement (left, center, right)
  • HRT fonts,
  • Font size.

From any place in BarCode Designer's wizard you can:
1Save the text and the barcode parameters to *.bcd file. This format is recognized by the library and can be loaded to the first window.
2.Save the barcode to a graphics file in one of numerous formats (JPG, BMP, TIFF, GIF, PNG, EPS). You can also save the parameters in PCL.
3.Copy the barcode as a bitmap to the clipboard.
4.Print the completed barcode from a printer.
