Proffesional Barcode fonts
Code39, Code128

Barcode fonts for use in programs such as
Excel, Word or Photoshop.

Barcode fonts will allow you to identify documents
Of the many different code systems, the most commonly used are: code 128 (Code128, GS1-128) and code 3 of 9 (Code39). HDF Code128 and HDF Code 39 fonts can be used in all programs using system fonts, running under the Windows operating system. Barcode fonts allow you to identify documents using a barcode. An example would be adding a bar code to an invoice or warehouse documents.
Installing barcode fonts only involves adding the font file to the operating system. You can use the installed font in all programs that use system fonts. Our specialists will help you remotely install HDF fonts in Windows and teach you how to use them, so you will use them shortly after ordering and you will be sure that the fonts will work fully correctly.

The advantage of using barcode fonts is the simplicity of their use and the ability to quickly and accurately identify both goods in stock and fixed assets located in your company as well as warehouse documents, such as: PZ, WZ, PW, RW with the required list of products for acceptance or also shipping. You can also place the bar code on other company documents that you can quickly identify using a reader or a mobile terminal.

01Information on HDF Code39
Code 39, otherwise known as Code 3 of 9, is an alphanumeric and one-dimensional (1D) code. Using this code, you can encode 43 alphanumeric characters (upper case letters from A to Z, numbers and special characters such as: -,., Space, $, /, +,%). The * symbol is used to mark the beginning and end of the text to be encoded.
02Why choose Code 39?
Code 3 of 9 is very popular and easy to use. It has a relatively low data storage density and can be read by most barcode readers available on the market. The code is most often used in the internal logistics of enterprises, automotive industry, metallurgy and chemical industry.
03How to insert code in ms word document?
Using any font (Times New Roman etc.) enter the desired string in the document, preceded and followed by an asterisk: * 123ABC *. Then select the entered string and select the HDF Code 39 font from the Format / Font menu or use the Font menu (then the HDF Code 39 font will be visible in the list as a bar code string).
04How to insert a space mark?
It's easy! If you want to use a space character in the encoded string, simply replace it with an underscore. For example, if you want to encode the string „123 ABC” then enter * 123_ABC *, then select the inscription and change the font to HDF Code 39. In this way, with a few clicks you will create the code and save the most important information in it.

Everything you need to know about the HDF Code128 font

Why is Code 128 (Code 128) so versatile? Its diverse application meets the needs of each company
01HDF Code128 - what is it?
HDF Code128 is a barcode font with which you can generate many different types of 128 codes (128A, 128B, 128C, GS1-128) that can be used in Excel, Word or anywhere on your computer where you have the option of selecting a text font. These codes have a high resolution and the ability to encode 128 ASCII characters (0-127) in it. Its advantage is that it can be scanned from any angle and does not affect its reading, making it much easier and more efficient to work with. Barcode 128 is used in logistics, to manage goods.
02What distinguishes barcode 128?
You already know that Code 128 is used in logistics and, more specifically, to manage deliveries, receipts, releases and other delivery-related processes. It is considered to be the logistical standard for identifying goods and allows the international exchange of information contained in this barcode. It is great for the warehouse and facilitates the recording of a lot of relevant data on goods. What makes it stand out in supply chain management is that it uses a system of application identifiers (IZ), which are numbers denoting selected product characteristics that allow it to encode logistical data into itself.
03Where will Code 128 work?
Code 128 was created for places such as the production and warehouse hall and as a means of preparing goods for shipment. It is also found in retail sales, but its main use is in logistics - it can be used to encode information such as production date, shelf life, product dimensions, number of pieces, serial number, information about the type of goods, etc. It will also prove useful in accounting areas, on coupons, electronic badges, internal company applications or payment accounts.
04How do I insert a barcode into a Word document using HDF Code 128?
1. using any text font (e.g. Arial, Times New Roman, etc.), enter a character string (in the form required for code 128) in a Word document.

2. select the character string you have entered and select the HDF Code128 font from the Format/Font menu or using the Font menu (in which case the font is shown in the font list as a barcode).

3. the character string entered will be changed to the GS1-128 code.

How to encode a barcode using Font Code128?

After purchasing the software, the customer is emailed a ZIP file, which contains the license agreement, TTF font and technical documentation for using this font. It is very important to familiarize yourself with the font's documentation, for the reason that Code128 barcode encoding requires the correct Start and Stop character (there are several to choose from) and the conversion of pairs of letters or numbers into the corresponding ASCII character. A checksum must also be calculated and added to the string to be encoded. This is not as simple as with Code39, where to make a valid barcode, all you need to do is add an asterisk * character to the front and back of the string you want to encode, for example *123456*.

Example: inserting the Code128 into a MS Word document

Using any font (Arial, Times New Roman, etc.) we type a string in the MS Word document (in the form required for code 128).

Select the character string entered and select the HDF 128 font from the Format/Font menu or using the Font menu (in this case the font is visible on the font list as a barcode).

The typed string will be changed to code 128.

Example: inserting a barcode 39 for the 123ABC character string into a MS Word document

Using any font (Arial, Times New Roman, etc.) we type in the MS Word document the desired sequence of characters, preceded and ended with an asterisk (*): *123ABC*.

Select the character string and select the HDF Code 39 font from the Format/Font menu or using the Font menu (then the HDF Code 39 font will be visible in the list as a sequence of barcodes).

The entered character string will be changed to code 3 of 9.

Note: If you want to use a space character in the coded sequence of characters, it should be replaced by an underscore character. For example, if you want to encode a sequence of 123 ABC characters, enter *123_ABC*, select the text and change the font to HDF Code 39.

Most frequently asked questions

What is Code128?
Code 128 is an alphanumeric and one-dimensional high resolution bar code. It was created to encode ASCII characters. For this purpose, lines and gaps of four different heights are used, thanks to which the code is compact. It is not limited by the length and direction of scanning, which makes it easier to read information. There are 106 different combinations of bar settings and spaces. Each of these combinations can be assigned one of three meanings by one of three starting characters.
What does code 128 consist of?
Each coded character in code 128 consists of 11 black or white modules. 11 modules consist of three stripes and three spaces. Strips and spaces can consist of 1 to 4 modules. The Code 128 bar code consists of: a quiet zone (at least 10 times wider than a narrow strip), a start sign, variable amount of data, checksum, stop sign and a quiet zone (at least 10 times wider than a narrow strip).
What is a bar code?
A bar code is a combination of different thicknesses of light and dark lines, which are determined by the symbolism adopted for a given code. Each combination conditioned by symbolism is unique, thanks to which we will correctly identify the data they contain and find them in the system. Generating your own unique barcode is not complicated, and software such as Bar Code Generator or HDF Labels 9.0 helps in this.
Which bar code should I choose for my needs?
Contact our sales department and select the line that best suits your business needs. The currently used barcode identification system is GS1, which is a combination of old identification standards in the United States and Europe, and is directly derived from the EAN 128 system. Retail goods are marked with the EAN-13 code, and what is important, the first digits indicate per country of origin of the goods.
