Kanban, what is it?
In its traditional form, a kanban was a board with 3 columns named respectively: 'To Do', 'In Progress' and 'Done', on which tasks assigned to specific people were written. The method originated in Japan and was developed in the 1940s. Kanban in our MES manufacturing system is a board that is used to visualize the current statuses of tasks taking place on the shop floor. On our board, you will put basic information such as the name and number of the part being produced, the batch size, the external or internal feeding process, the number of products in the package, the storage address and the location of the end customer to whom the order is to be shipped. You also get the option to put a barcode on the board that is assigned to a specific product or material, allowing employees to track its quantity and location. This allows you to track material movement and consumption on your production floor. HDF MES allows you to automatically create and send orders to suppliers after it detects material stock shortages - this ensures that costly downtime is avoided and leaves you with the continuity of work needed in the manufacturing industry. The ability to automatically invoice orders is also an added advantage. Automated management of the production process is very important - it guarantees the avoidance of overproduction, as well as excessive movement of materials, since the system automatically manages the synchronization of their movement and quantity. Production software is a useful solution, supporting the implementation of the schedule on time and generating reports about the stages of production and its results, which you can then analyze and prevent possible irregularities in the future. In cooperation with MES software, industrial devices such as data collectors or barcode scanners are great for quickly obtaining information about a given product, part or material. Also great are barcode printers, which are useful for printing barcodes and labels that are extremely necessary on the shop floor. We also install an application on mobile computers, running online, which is compatible with the system we created, so you can access it throughout the production floor and beyond.
