Godex EZ6250i and EZ6350i are industrial label printers with a 168 mm print width, printing thermal transfer and direct thermal labels wider than typical 4-inch printers can handle. They print large logistics and pallet labels, labels for shipping cartons and industrial packaging. The EZ6250i works at 203 dpi and the EZ6350i at 300 dpi. Housing, mechanism, interfaces and options are shared.

Key features

  • 168 mm print width, labels 50.8 to 178 mm wide: an A5 format fits on one label, e.g. a pallet label with several barcodes and a product description.
  • Metal housing and robust print mechanism: built for continuous work on large runs in the warehouse and on the shop floor.
  • Ribbon up to 450 m, 60 to 174 mm wide: ribbon width is matched to the label, so narrower labels do not waste ribbon. The printer detects ink-in and ink-out ribbons automatically.
  • Label rolls up to 203 mm in diameter on a 3-inch core: large rolls mean fewer media changes during a run. On a 1.5-inch core the roll can be up to 152 mm.
  • Colour LCD with navigation buttons and a calibration button: the operator adjusts settings and calibrates media at the printer, with no software on a PC.
  • ZPL emulation (GZPL) plus EZPL, GEPL and GDPL with automatic switching: the printer accepts print jobs from systems set up for other popular label printers. It is worth testing your own label formats before ordering more printers.
  • USB, RS-232, Ethernet and a USB host port, real-time clock as standard: connect the printer to the network or to legacy equipment over the serial port. The USB host extends memory and allows printing without a PC, and the clock prints date and time on the label.
  • Modular printhead: the printhead is easy to replace, which shortens downtime during service.
  • Options: cutter, label dispenser with internal liner rewinder, applicator interface, parallel port and external label rewinder.

How to choose a variant

  • Resolution and speed. The EZ6250i (203 dpi, up to 177 mm/s) covers logistics, pallet and shipping labels. Choose the EZ6350i (300 dpi, up to 127 mm/s) when a large label carries fine text, an ingredients table or dense 2D codes.
  • Maximum print length. It depends on resolution: up to 1,778 mm on the EZ6250i and up to 762 mm on the EZ6350i.
  • Label width. The printer takes labels from 50.8 mm wide. If most of your labels are up to 100 mm wide, a 4-inch printer is enough. The EZ6250i and EZ6350i make sense when you need labels wider than 104 mm.
  • Label output. By default labels are torn off. Choose a cutter to cut labels one by one or in batches. Choose a dispenser with liner rewinder when each label is applied right after printing, and the applicator interface when the printer works with an automatic applicator.
  • Operating conditions. The manufacturer specifies an operating temperature of 5 to 40°C, so the printer is not intended for cold stores or freezers.
