Photographic equipment hire management software
This comprehensive IT system for hire shops supports the execution of all processes involved in providing customer service and complete management of operations connected with hiring out of demonstration equipment.
The hire shop software creators were challenged to improve the service which provides equipment for professional use from Nikon Polska’s catalogue. By creating a comprehensive IT solution to support operations at a range of levels, from simplifying customer service procedures to complete management of all finalising processes, we were able to provide our customer with an effective tool for simplifying the management of a photographic equipment hire shop. The network application we developed allows multiple employees at a time to deliver customer service via a web browser. It was designed using ASP.NET technology and works on Microsoft MySQL Server. It is an easy-to-use application which workers can access from any workstation, without the need to install any additional software. By managing user groups, specific employees using the system can be assigned appropriate authorisations.
The hire shop computer system monitors all processes in the business. The intuitive design simplifies the execution of employees’ duties and optimises business operations. Authorised employees can view system-generated documentation describing all procedures which have been carried out. The application oversees the preparation of issuance and returns documentation; the automation of this process avoids forms being filled incorrectly, and their full digitisation ensures not only the security of data storage, but also that there is quick and easy access to it, and also that this is limited to authorised personnel only.
The hire-shop program automatically keeps account of rental periods, keeping the entire procedure easy to follow and less labour-intensive. A prompts system issues reminders of the need to return hired equipment, which also ensures control over overdue rentals.
The implementation of a computerised hire-shop service contributed significantly to an improvement in the services delivered by our client. Thanks to full control over processes, those responsible for managing the business found they had an effective tool for optimising the company’s rental operations. Meanwhile, employees were relieved of responsibility for the execution of many of the formal procedural tasks related to the provision of equipment to clients.
