High-speed industrial label printer Godex GX4300i / GX4600i PRO
Godex GX4300i PRO and GX4600i PRO are high-speed industrial label printers in a steel housing, printing thermal transfer and direct thermal labels up to 118 mm wide. They are built for production lines and large shipping departments, where print speed sets the pace of the workstation. The GX4300i PRO prints at 300 dpi at up to 305 mm/s, and the GX4600i PRO at 600 dpi at up to 203 mm/s.
Key features
- Up to 305 mm/s at 300 dpi and up to 203 mm/s at 600 dpi: the printer keeps up with a fast line and with large batches of shipping labels, even with fine 600 dpi output.
- Steel housing and cast aluminium frame: built for continuous work in production halls and warehouses while keeping print precision.
- 5-inch colour touchscreen with how-to videos: the operator sees on screen how to load labels and ribbon, and saves favourite settings in one place. Fewer calls to IT after a media change.
- Resolution changed by swapping the printhead (203, 300 or 600 dpi): when labels change, the printer moves to a different resolution without buying another device.
- Ribbon up to 450 m and label rolls up to 203 mm in diameter: at high speed, media is changed less often. The ribbon is 30 to 110 mm wide on a 1-inch core.
- Media 0.06 to 0.25 mm thick and 25.4 to 118 mm wide: besides logistics labels, the printer handles marking of small components, cables, tubes and nameplates.
- ZPL emulation (GZPL) plus EZPL, GEPL and GDPL with automatic switching: the printer accepts print jobs from systems set up for other popular label printers. It is worth testing your own label formats before ordering more printers.
- USB, RS-232, Ethernet and three USB host ports (two front, one rear): connect the printer to the network or to legacy equipment over the serial port, and plug a scanner or keyboard into the front.
- Options: cutter (rotary, guillotine, perforation, high-speed, paper card), label dispenser with internal liner rewinder, DSUB-15 applicator interface, external label rewinder and unwinder. The manufacturer offers a UHF RFID module as a project option.
How to choose a variant
- Resolution and speed. The GX4300i PRO (300 dpi, up to 305 mm/s) suits product, logistics and shipping labels printed in large runs. Choose the GX4600i PRO (600 dpi, up to 203 mm/s) for small labels with fine text and dense 2D codes: electronic components, cables and tubes.
- Label output. By default labels are torn off. Choose a cutter when labels must be cut one by one or in batches, a dispenser with liner rewinder when the operator applies each label right after printing, and the applicator interface when the printer works with an automatic applicator on the line.
- Operating conditions. The manufacturer specifies an operating temperature of 5 to 40°C, so the printer is not intended for cold stores or freezers.
Used in HDF solutions
- In HDF MES the label prints when production is reported, and on a fast line the printer has to keep up with the cycle. The GX4300i PRO prints at up to 305 mm/s, and the applicator interface lets you connect automatic labelling.
- In HDF WMS shipping and pallet labels print at peak picking time, when every second at the packing station counts. Up to 305 mm/s and a 450 m ribbon shorten the queue at the printer.
- Need small labels for components, cables or nameplates? We produce labels in non-standard sizes, 25.4 to 118 mm wide, on rolls up to 203 mm in diameter, ready for 600 dpi printing.
- At 305 mm/s ribbon runs out fast. We set up regular deliveries of 110 mm × 450 m wax/resin or resin ribbons, so the line never stops for lack of supplies.
