Newland MT9300 / MT9356

Newland MT9300 and MT9356 Megattera are Android mobile computers in a smartphone form factor with a 5.5" screen. They are built for warehousing, retail, logistics and delivery, wherever staff scan barcodes for a whole shift and the device has to survive a drop onto concrete. MT9300 (Standard Plus) is the base version with 4 GB RAM. MT9356 (Pro) adds 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, Android Enterprise Recommended certification and eSIM.

Key features

• CM66 2D imager with laser aimer: reads EAN-13 from 7 to 61 cm and dense Data Matrix and PDF417 codes at close range. Acuscan picks the right barcode when several are printed next to each other.
• IP67 and 1.5 m drops to concrete: resistant to dust, water and the usual drops from hand or forklift.
• Operating range from −20 to 55°C: suitable for unheated halls, loading docks and outdoor work.
• Swappable 5000 mAh battery: up to 10 hours of continuous use according to the manufacturer, 18 W fast charging. In multi-shift operation you swap the battery instead of taking the device out of service.
• Octa-core MediaTek 2.2 GHz, Android 13 with GMS, Android 15 upgrade available: apps run smoothly and the device receives security patches.
• Wi-Fi 6/6E, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS: reliable connectivity on the warehouse network and beyond, e.g. for drivers or field reps.
• Ndevor (free MDM from the manufacturer), SOTI and 42Gears certified: remote configuration, updates and kiosk mode without a service visit.
• Two side scan buttons and a pistol grip connector: the same device works as a smartphone or as a classic gun-style mobile computer.

How to choose a variant

• Performance and certification. MT9300 Standard Plus (4 GB RAM / 64 GB, GMS) covers typical warehouse and retail apps. MT9356 Pro (6 GB RAM / 128 GB) is also Android Enterprise Recommended (AER), Google's confirmation that it meets enterprise requirements and receives regular updates. Choose it when IT manages the fleet via Android Enterprise or when your security policy requires it.
• Scan head angle. Straight Shooter (SS) scans straight ahead like a classic mobile computer. Angled Shooter (AS, MT9356 only) has a tilted scan head, so you can read the barcode while looking at the screen. Over hundreds of scans per shift this reduces wrist strain.
• SIM. MT9300 takes two nano-SIM cards (or nano-SIM plus microSD). MT9356 has nano-SIM and eSIM, which simplifies remote provisioning of data plans in large fleets.
• Housing color. Standard Plus is also available in white, intended for healthcare and hygiene-sensitive areas. Technical specifications are the same.

Reading the part number: MT9300 or MT9356 is the model, AS or SS is the scan head (Angled / Straight Shooter), and the -W suffix means a white housing.
