RELIABLE ACCESS CONTROL – CUSTOM-MADE SYSTEM

The access control system was created to verify passengers before entering the boarding area. Thanks to detailed verification, access to customs clearance and boarding the aircraft is granted only to authorized passengers who possess valid boarding passes and are awaiting their flight.

ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM FOR THE DEPARTURE AREA AT AN AIRPORT

The software is designed to verify passengers before entering the boarding area. It was developed using C# technology, based on Windows SQL Server 2014. Utilizing innovative technologies, we designed a system that controls the accuracy of data encoded in the airline ticket barcode.

Thanks to detailed verification, access to customs clearance and boarding the aircraft is granted only to authorized passengers who possess valid boarding passes and are awaiting their flight.

SECURITY AND CONTROL

The access control system ensures security and eliminates the possibility of errors in the boarding pass control of passengers, thus ensuring that only authorized individuals are present in the departure area.

DETAILED REPORTS

The access control program also allows for the generation of reports regarding passengers passing through the turnstiles and scanned data, and then enables their export to an Excel file for further analysis.

AUTOMATIC VERIFICATION USING SCANNERS AND A PC

The access control solution, created specifically for an airport, ensures safety and order in the departure area. Thanks to barcode readers mounted on specially designed turnstiles, only individuals with a valid boarding pass have access to the rest of the airport. In addition to the turnstiles, a PC dedicated to the controller was also used for verification. After a passenger scans their boarding pass, information about the passenger's first and last name, flight number, reservation number, connection, ticket number, and departure date appears on the monitor.

MANUAL MODE AND PANIC MODE

The access control application also includes a manual mode, which allows the controller to unlock the turnstiles, and a "panic mode" that allows the release of the turnstile arms and free movement of passengers in both directions in the event of a malfunction.

ACCESS CARDS FOR EMPLOYEES

Each employee also has an individual access card, which allows them to pass through the turnstiles an unlimited number of times, without any restrictions.

REAL-TIME PASSENGER RECORDING

An additional advantage of the system is its real-time operation, which allows for the continuous transmission of data from barcode readers mounted at the entrance to the departure area to the "reports" module. This makes it possible to keep a record of passengers undergoing ticket control and to export this data to an Excel document.

IMPLEMENTATION AND EQUIPMENT

During the implementation at the client's site, we used the following equipment:

  • A desktop computer with two RS-232 ports, monitor, mouse, and keyboard for the operator,
  • Two Zebra DS457 readers,
  • Two USB-controlled relay modules AVTMOD04,
  • Two Came Stile One PSMM02 turnstiles.
